The first rally of the year and a very cold one it was to, not even during the day did the temperature rise much. We arrived Thursday and I started to put up tent, no wind around, got up center section, wind came and there were 4 of us tring to stop the tent flying through the air towards lake.
Friday went to Mother Shiptons Cave and had a great time there looking at the teddy bears hung in the water fall getting turned into stone. Played bingo and had a couple of pints and a good old chinwagging session in hall during evening.
Saturday morning it was time for the run out to Theakstons brewery 6 reliants with many followers behind. It was a very interesting trip and a fine drop of ale was included.
Sunday the day started with painting eggs etc. after which the kids searched for chocolate eggs placed all over the camp by Trevor and myself, the girls won the highest number collected as usual. The fun thing for the reliant drivers was a manoverability test which was won by Stan in 52 secs, I came in last in the timed go with 71 secs. The evening came with bingo, quizzes and the usual drinks and chat.
Monday started nice but dull until the thunder started and we found ourselves in a torrential downpour. In the evening the AA had to called out 20 mins it took for them to arrive and he soon got the poorly Kitten up and running again so a family could go home.
Tuesday turned out fine we packed up and on the way home we stopped off at Harewood House for a 2 hour break.
The rally was a huge success again the organisers did a superb job and we can only hope the weather is warmer next year.
